Professional bus, coach, and truck drivers must possess the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC). It has been implemented throughout Europe to increase traffic safety and uphold the high standard of driving. If you drive an HGV, LGV, coach, or bus for a living, you need Driver CPC training. Every five years complete 35 hours of periodic training to keep your CPC. It was implemented to raise driving standards and increase road safety. The driver complies with all current health, safety, and legal standards.
Most licensees with a Category C or D must comply with this regulatory obligation; however, there are a few exclusions, which are detailed later.
